What’s New

Smart Share now moves duplicate files to the trash instead of deleting them
Smart Share lets teachers overwrite pre existing student files that have the same name as a newly shared file. Before, the preexisting files were simply deleted. Now, however, they are moved to the trash to help avoid losing data by mistake.

Bug Fixes

ILP now works with long User IDs
Individual Learning Plans (aka Student Notes) was failing to find a valid document when the User ID was unusually long. This has been fixed.

Users no longer forced back to welcome page
Some users were being unexpectedly forced from the Interact page back to the welcome page. This has been fixed.

Drive tab error handling improved
In the Drive tab, if TD2 could not load a student panel for some reason, the "spinner" just kept spinning forever. Now it says 'Failed to retrieve student docs' like the other tabs.

Bug Fixes

Removing students from colour groups
Unchecking the box for a colour group did not remove a student from the group, but it does now.

Refreshing the Interact tab
Refreshing the Interact tab occasionally returned users to the Dashboard tab. No more!

All Classes tab stability
Upon opening the All Classes tab, classes sometimes appeared, disappeared, and then appeared again. Now, classes stay in place after appearing on the All Classes tab.

Date formatting in the Gmail, Blogger, and Sites tabs
The Gmail, Sites, and Blogger tabs showed dates and times like so: 2015-05-11 12:00. As a result, the most useful information was truncated, like so: 2015-05-…. Those tabs now show dates much more usefully, like so: May 11 12:00.

Regarding the Google Alert for Discontinued SDK APIs

Many of our subscribers recently received an email from Google stating that the discontinued Provisioning API is still being used by a third party application. Some of our internal tools featured small bits of non-user facing code that had yet to be transitioned away from the deprecated APIs. This evening, as we worked to clean up and transition the last of the old code, we inadvertently made some API calls and triggered the Google alert you received.
  • We sincerely apologize for the alarming emails.
  • None of the API calls made are related to Teacher Dashboard.
  • There is ZERO action required on your part.
  • We sincerely apologize a second time.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank You,
Hapara Support

What’s New

Easy access to students’ Google Sites
For classes set up to show student activity on a specific Google Site such as an ePortfolio, teachers can now open a student’s site via an icon at the top of the student’s panel.

Classes are alphabetically ordered
Classes are now ordered alphabetically in My Classes, Hidden Classes, All Classes. The sorting order obeys any class nicknames. The Smart Share window and the class dropdown (at top left of header) also orders the classes alphabetically.

Bug Fixes
Sites creation failures
The creation of new Sites was failing in some cases. This issue has now been resolved.

Smart Share text error: max of X
In the Smart Share window the text shows the user how many files they can choose. But the text was incomplete - missing the trailing "5". This has been resolved.

All Docs tab on Dashboard view
Some schools want to display All Docs as a student folder. This worked in TDC but was not working in TD2. This issue has been resolved.
