RESOLVED: Smart Share Service Degradation

RESOLVED 4/20/2015 11:21AM PDT: The root cause of this morning's Smart Share delays has been identified and a fix has been implemented. Google has increased the Drive API per second limit rate of the new app, and we are no longer running into the errors that extended SS completion times. Should any users still experience lingering issues, please do not hesitate to reach out. We thank you for your patience and understanding

ORIGINAL POST 4/20/2015 9:05AM PDT: Over the weekend, we updated Smart Share to operate on the new Google Drive API, as Google no longer supports the old APIs Smart Share was built upon. While we have seen a drop in error rates, average completion times have unfortunately increased. Smart Share's slowness seems to be an unexpected result of that update, but we're working to understand and fix the problem. From our reports, the copies are still being created and the share completed, but after a longer than normal processing period.

Should you experience this behavior in Smart Share, please contact us at support@hapara.com with the following information:

1. What file did the teacher try sharing?
2. With what classes did the teacher try sharing the file?
3. When did the teacher start the attempted share?
4. Have any students received the files in question?
* If so, which students would those be?

We apologize for the inconvenience and will post all updates we receive from our developers.

Sincerely,
Hapara Support
